I’ll certainly miss it but thank you for what you’ve done! I always enjoyed listening and learning a bit about the past, and I had a lot of good discussion come from them – and you were sparing your own free time, so if you got other priorities that’s totally cool 👍

Probably that too, for me it was the GPU/CUDA support mostly, which I know is being worked on currently so hopefully that’ll get improved. If that isn’t a concern for you and WSL is working great for everything else then more power to ya

Should be nearly identical, it’s using a lower spec GPU so that could slow it down a little for some projects. Might run some tests later just to see

AE still doesn’t utilize the GPU that much so you could throw in a cheapo one I imagine

It’s a normal Windows VM but just with the ability to passthrough PCI devices to it, so it’s the same support and essentially identical performance as the hardware you allocate for it https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PCI_passthrough_via_OVMF

I remember trying to set up VSTs with REAPER a while back and it’s definitely not fun since you’re relying on the Wine support, this PCI passthrough setup solves all that though

Basically this, I can’t deny it mostly worked for me for a long time but when I started running into more issues I missed the native Linux environment more and more

More convenient dev environment and a lot easier to customize. There’s just a lot of little things with Windows that bug me and WSL doesn’t always cut it

On mobile I’m just logged into the throwaway (since Tweetdeck isn’t a thing) so all I see is art stuff. Only downside to this all is it means there’s no easy way to view tweets from my main but that’s kinda the point of diverting the distraction lol, it works SUPER well for me

Logged into a throwaway for art stuff that has access to my main, so I’m able to use one login which has Twitter default to art stuff and Tweetdeck default to my main. Only getting (silent) notifications for mentions/messages.

Don’t have any final thoughts since it’s dependent on person/project/a lot more. It’s just an interesting exercise to think about different scenarios and which option would be the best or most efficient. My workflow is never set in stone so I tend to think about this stuff a lot
